Birth Certificates and Paternity Affidavits
Birth certificates can be obtained in multiple ways:
- Visiting website: https://ripleycounty.in.gov/health/vital-records/
- Requesting application by mail
- In person at the Ripley County Health Department.
You must provide acceptable identification (i.e. driver’s license.) Fees vary by method of payment. Paternity affidavits are available by appointment only.

Vaccinations
To safeguard both yourself and newborns against whooping cough (pertussis), it is essential for pregnant women to receive the Tdap vaccine with each pregnancy. Additionally, all other adults should get the Tdap vaccine every ten years. The infant vaccine schedule includes doses at: 2, 4, 6, 12, 15 & 18 months. We can process charges through private insurance and Medicaid, and offer vaccines at no cost for those who are uninsured.

Safe Baby Class
We must protect our littlest ones! Learn how to prevent preterm labor, home safety issues, current vaccine recommendations, car seat tips, safe sleep education and so much more! This class is for anyone who is pregnant or is around small children.

Car Seats
Free car seat checks! Learn how to confidently install your car seat with the assistance of a certified car seat technician. These car seat checks are by appointment only.

Safe Sleep

Online Education
Earn while you learn. Sign up for online educational videos about pregnancy, delivery, baby care, and so much more! You can earn points to use toward free diapers, wipes, or a voucher for baby items.

Blood Pressure Machines and Tests
Free blood pressure machines are available to pregnant women. You can also get a pregnancy test, blood sugar test, and tested for sexually transmitted infections.
