The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office has recently begun to use a new records management and computer aided dispatch system. This system allows us to add much more information so that we can better serve the community. At this time, we are asking for your help. We would like to add those with special needs to our system in order to get them the help they need and handle their situation correctly.
For example, we would add a child with autism with information on his/her address, likes or dislikes, parent’s contact number, school, etc. or a child with a physical need so that the fire department would know where to find them in the home should there be a fire. We can also add adults with physical needs or Alzheimer’s.
We have a form that we would like for parents or guardians to fill out and return to us with a photo attached. Once this information is returned to the Sheriff’s Office, your child or family member will be added to the system, should an emergency arise, dispatchers will have all of the important information to give to the officers responding.
It is our hope that we can work together to make sure we are handling these delicate calls timely and correctly. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 812-689-5558.
Forms and photographs can be returned to the Sheriff’s Office by mail, email at [email protected] or in person Monday through Friday 8 am- 4 pm.
