The Ripley County 911 Communications Center is proud to announce the launch of a Special Needs Registry designed to help first responders provide the best possible care during emergencies.
This program is voluntary and allows parents, guardians, and caregivers to share important information about individuals with special needs. The information provided will remain confidential and will only be accessible to the 911 Dispatch Center, law enforcement, fire, and EMS.
Once a person is registered, an alert will be attached to their home address in our dispatch system. If emergency responders are ever sent to that location, dispatch will have critical background details readily available—such as communication preferences, medical conditions, calming techniques, or known triggers.
Having this information in advance helps responders know how to approach and assist appropriately, ensuring a safer and more supportive response.
By registering, you are helping first responders arrive prepared, informed, and ready to respond with understanding and care.
