Position/Job Requirements
• Physician with unlimited/unrestricted license to practice in Indiana
• Must attend Local Health Officer training presented by the Indiana Department of Health – TBD (tentative fall of 2025)

• Incumbent is appointed by the county Board of Health, and the County Commissioners must confirm/approve the appointment – term of the appointment (as defined by statute) is four (4) years
• 5 – 10 hours per week with additional hours as necessary, especially during times of disaster and/or public health emergencies
• “on call” 24 hrs per day/7 days per week for disasters and public health emergencies
• work may either be office based for meetings, etc, or may be field based when responding to disaster and/or public health emergencySalary
