Duties of the Highway Supervisor

The Highway Supervisor is appointed by the County Commissioners in those counties where the maintenance and repair of highways, bridges and culverts is not handled by the County Surveyor.

Duties in addition to the supervision of maintenance and repair of highways, bridges, and culverts include fixing the load limits thereon, and filing of monthly and annual reports with the Board of County Commissioners.

The salary of the County Highway Supervisor is determined by the County Council with a recommendation from the County Commissioners.
In those counties having a County Highway Engineer, the County Commissioners may provide for the County Highway Engineer to serve also as County Highway Supervisor.
