Driveway Culvert Permit Application

Proper sizing and installation of a driveway culvert is a requirement for an Improvement Location Permit and Occupancy Permit for any construction in Ripley County that requires a driveway. The following steps are required:
  1. The Builder/Owner acquires a Driveway Culvert Permit at the Ripley County Highway Department located at 2710 North Hasmer Hill Rd. Osgood, Indiana.
  2. The Ripley County Superintendent/Foreman inspects the property and determines the minimum size of driveway culvert to be installed. Only galvanized steel and double wall plastic culverts are permitted.
  3. All materials (culvert and stone) are purchased by the owner/builder and are to be located at the job site.
  4. Ripley County Superintendent/Foreman is contacted by the owner/builder to install the driveway culvert or approve the installation by the owner/builder.
  5. Completed installation is inspected and approved by the Ripley County Superintendent/Foreman. The Ripley County Building Inspector is to be notified of the approved installation before the final Building Inspection and Certificate of Occupancy will be released.
  6. This permit is valid for six (6) months from the date of application. After six (6) months this permit will be considered expired and void.
