What is FIMR?
The Southeastern Indiana Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) Team is a compassionate, volunteer, community-based organization serving seven counties in southeastern Indiana: Decatur, Dearborn, Franklin, Jefferson, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland.
We honor the meaningful lives of the babies lost too soon by learning from their stories and striving to create a brighter beginning for future families. Through careful review of each child’s circumstances, we make informed recommendations to healthcare providers and community organizations, helping shape systems that nurture healthier pregnancies and safer first years of life.
Our mission is to support grieving families with empathy and to ensure that every expectant parent has the resources, knowledge, and care they need to welcome their child into the world. We ask families that have experienced fetal or infant loss to share their stories in hopes that we can implement and improve current resources for families.
